Ignorance Isn’t Bliss
It has been said that in the age of information, ignorance is a choice. And yet casual ignorance seems to be the choice of more of us than ever before. Imagine how different the world would be if we could sit down and share our differences over a cup of tea. Over a cup for you and a cup for me, we’d create a world that celebrates difference; a world where uniqueness is embraced. Join marie claire and T2 as we put the kettle on and unbox casual ignorance, one cup of tea at a time.
What is casual ignorance?
Casual ignorance isn’t about sharing an opinion. It’s not about fake news or getting a few details wrong. It’s about being the judge, jury and executioner – without having all the facts on the subject or person being judged. marie claire and T2 are shining a light on casual ignorance with an aim to get people to talk, to listen and to put their preconceptions aside over a cup of tea.
From childhood we’re told not to jump to conclusions or judge a book by its cover. But we do. As humans we are programmed to decide whether someone or something new or foreign to us is a friend or foe. First impressions can make an impact, but they can also be misleading. It’s what we do next that matters.
Time for understanding.
Amazing conversations can be shared over a cup of tea. Our aim is to encourage people to talk through their own experiences of being misunderstood to show how understanding, through conversation and education, over a cup for you and a cup for me, has the potential to expand and enrich our lives.
We took to the streets to challenge different people from all walks of life to sit down over a cup of tea, to talk (and listen) about everyday topics that people may perceive differently, based on their position or standpoint in life.

Tea reimagined
Born and brewed in Melbourne, Australia, T2 gets a kick out of turning the world of tea on its head. At T2, they’re about reinventing and reimagining the humble tea leaf and sharing their teas with anyone who’ll listen.
If you’ve ever been into a T2 store you were probably offered a cup of tea and had a bit of a chat. The T2 team are like that. T2 is a friendly place that believes in inclusion. Oh, and it’s heaven for tea lovers. So, if you haven’t paid them a visit yet? Treat yourself. They’re looking forward to meeting you.
The biggest little tea company
The T2 team is inspired by the people they meet and the far-flung places they visit. They learn ancient tea rituals and reimagine them to bring them to a modern tea table. Every cup they brew is a chance to make tea more enjoyable, more accessible and more experimental; it’s an opportunity to connect, understand and share with the world their love for a better cup of tea, everyday.
Think differently
T2 was born out of a desire to be unlike anything else, to break the mould and challenge the way things are done. They’re relentlessly individual and there’s no tea brand like them. So who better to celebrate standing out than a tea brand that has always stood out? Sip by sip, cup by cup, at T2, they’re making it their mission to use the humble brew to fuel conversations around diversity and inclusion.
